I have the same problem on domu kernel 3.16.0.4-amd64 or kernel 4.3.0-1-amd64 
with error

platform rtc_cmos: registered platform RTC device (no PNP device found)
[ 1.415493] rtc_cmos rtc_cmos: rtc core: registered rtc_cmos as rtc0
[ 1.415577] rtc_cmos: probe of rtc_cmos failed with error -38
[ 1.416475] rtc_hctosys: unable to open rtc device (rtc0)
