I'm not sure, why you mention domU errors. I'm talking about dom0, which, unlike a domU, should have access to the actual CMOS hardware clock.

Any clue what's going on? rtc_cmos works fine with previous kernels on
the same hardware.

Is dom0 not supposed to control the CMOS clock?
