Well, either that or the people insisting it remain need to step up and take over maintenance. Amazon appear to be offering to do that, at least to some extent. I nearly said "remain Supported" above, but the reality is that it effectively hasn't been Supported by this community for many releases now. I don't know to what extent Matt and Steven are offering to maintain it. Depending on the answer to that we should consider moving xend to a separate tree.
