Jim asked for some clarification regarding the semantics of the SR class
in the Xen-API; here it is:

SR is a new concept, not implemented in Xend as it stands today. An SR
is analogous to CIM's StoragePool. An SR represents a storage location
that has been registered with Xend. SRs may be looked up by name or
listed, and then new disks (VDIs) may be allocated from and created
within that storage repository.

To support this API, storage management within Xend will have to be
improved. Up 'til now, a new disk image such as a QCOW image file has
had to be made manually, but the intention is that Xend will be able to
do this itself. This will allow remote creation of new VDIs without
needing to access the Xen host to allocate the storage manually.

Cheers,

Ewan.
