Thanks Jon, running vncviewer from another Ubuntu system worked fine, so it must have something to do with XenCenter. I did install the free XenServer on the same hardware and that worked fine with XenCenter. I don’t really see anything I can configure in XenCenter with regards to the keyboard in the console nor do I see any error messages.

Hi Derry,

Have you tried just using plain VNC? The VNC servers don't listen on the external interface, so you'll have to run something like

'vncviewer -via me@xxxxxxxxxx localhost:1'

and see if you get the keyboard working like that.

Something else to try is to enable rdesktop on your windows VM - you should then be able to use RDP through XenCenter.

It seems to be running correctly and I can access it using XenCenter and create and run vm’s. However, the keyboard doesn’t work in the vm console. The mouse works fine, but no keyboard. I have tried a vm with Windows 7 64 bit and Ubuntu 11.10 Desktop. I don’t get any errors, just no keyboard.

Does anyone have this working or have any ideas how I can fix it?
