Dear Tobias Geiger,

Thank you again for replying to me.

If Radeon HD 6970 is guaranteed to work with Xen VGA Passthrough to Windows 8 Consumer Preview, I may get it, maybe a few months down the road. But it costs Singapore dollars $479!!!

I don't think I may be getting it SOON. My NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS costs only S$44 and I only bought it recently.

If I want to stick with Xen VGA Passthrough to Windows 8 Consumer Preview with NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS, then only Intel engineers Zhang Xiantao, Ren Yongjie and Xen developers may be able to help me fix the yellow exclamation mark glitch.

Seriously do you think there may be a problem with the MMIO BARs pBAR:vBAR 1:1 matching? Is David Techer a software engineer/programmer/developer? If not, how is he able to forward port Intel's Xen VGA Passthrough patches from Xen 3.5-unstable (WHICH WORKED 100% SUCCESSFULLY) to Xen 4.2-unstable (which worked only PARTIALLY successfully for MYSELF)?

Thank you again for proof-reading my Xen VGA Passthrough Version 1.6 documentation. If somebody is able to help me fix the glitch, there will be a FINAL Version 1.7 documentation.

i think you can safely buy a any of the 6xxx series. i would recommend a 6870 or 6850, they are realtively cheap and quite fast.
i own a 6870 card a q67 board an a i5-2400s so i guess i could test it :)

maybe on the weekend ...
best wishes
martin

Dear Martin,

Please do test out Xen VGA Passthrough with your ATI Radeon 6870 and Xen 4.2-unstable and let me know the test result.

After checking the computer hardware pricelist in Singapore, MSI R6870 1GB DDR5 (2PM2D1GD5)........269, it costs S$269. Much much cheaper.

If you can get any cheap NVIDIA VGA card, please use/follow my Xen VGA Passthrough Version 1.6 Documentation and see if you can get Xen VGA Passthrough to Windows 8 Consumer Preview to work 100% successfully without any glitches. A cheap NVIDIA vga card like mine should cost only S$44.

Thank you very much for replying.
