replying to my on email but I found the solution (workaround) here
entering instal=hd:/dev/hdc did the trick.

The installation concerns a application based on SLES10SP3. There are some install scripts added which look for /dev/sr0. While booting the domu with this installation media I wouldn't know how to symlink /dev/sr0. I'm open for suggestions on this.
I have made a HVM but no change no /dev/sr0 for the domu available.
