[Xen-users] How PCI Passthrough works

Hi everyone,

 

I have an HVM pfsense firewall that has been given a physical NIC via PCI passthrough (for the WAN side). It also has an emulated e1000 NIC for the LAN side. Now, I'm getting a max throughput of 90Mbps through it, and I wish to find out where the "problem" lies.

 

Given that the NIC worked fine at full Gbps speed in the Dom0, would this suggest that my Xen's PCI Passthrough setup is ok?

 

What I'm asking is, does the Dom0 use "PCI Passthrough" for all communications with PCI devices, like a DomU would?
