I installed xen 3.4.2 by source package and created new initrd img and vmlinuz for v3.4.2.
So I boot the older version with older initrd img and vmlinuz, and I don't think the installation of v3.4.2 would affect the older one.
Am I right?

xend and hypervisor version must match. You can't use xend from 3.4.2
for xen hypervisor v 3.1.2.
