Switch to hyp-mode depends on the processor. So it may be complex. Or not.

As you can see, for OMAP5 Linux kernel did leave the switch to hyp mode. I 
guess the reasoning behind that also assumes a complexity of changes to a 
bootloader, like in the patch you noticed.
