Soft poweroff works fine so long as you are sure the rest of the system (i.e., other domains) are stopped or quiescent. Suspend doesn’t work yet but there are patches pending to support it.

As DOM0 can have direct access to the hardware, it can do a soft off by writing to the power management registers without letting the hypervisor knowing this.
I think this is unsafe. Also consider the case of dom0 issuing a suspend.
Please correct me if my understanding was wrong.
