Re: [Xen-API] [XCP 1.6] rolling pool upgrade: product -> beta ->product

Hi,

According to a page somewhere on the wiki, shouldn't the direct upgrade from 1.1 to 1.6 work modyfing the xensource-inventory:

Upgrading from XCP 1.1 directly to XCP 1.6: This works, but you need to add the keys PLATFORM_VERSION=1.1.0 and PLATFORM_NAME=XCP to your /etc/xensource-inventory file before attempting the upgrade.

http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/XCP_1.6_test_instructions#Upgrading_from_XCP_1.1_and_XCP_1.5_Beta

I have not yet tried a pool upgrade as our xcp 1.1 pool is in production and I was waiting for the final version to do it...

Cheers,
Sébastien

Good day.

We've starts to test XCP 1.6. Fist thing to say - rolling pool upgrade works only from XCP 1.1 to XCP 1.5 beta and to XCP 1.6. Direct upgrade from XCP 1.1 to 1.6 not supported, and if we take in account XCP 1.5 is 'eternal beta', upgrade plan for product environment seems be not very amusing.

Will direct upgrade from XCP 1.1 to 1.6 possible in release?
