Hey, I am trying to install am vm from iso but it doesn't work. Problem: Gvncviewer just shows me a black screen (in case of a kali.iso). Booting from Win7.iso I get the loading screen for about 3 seconds, then the screen gets black, too. Using vnc on an installed vm works without a problem. Because of using a Skylake CPU I am using xen 4.6 from debian strech described like this: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/261029/install-xen-4-6-on-debian-jessie root@xen:/root# dpkg -l| grep -i xen ii grub-xen-bin 2.02~beta2-22+deb8u1 amd64 GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (Xen binaries) ii grub-xen-host 2.02~beta2-22+deb8u1 amd64 GRand Unified Bootloader, version 2 (Xen host version) ii libxen-4.4:amd64 4.4.1-9+deb8u4 amd64 Public libs for Xen ii libxen-4.6:amd64 4.6.0-1+nmu2 amd64 Public libs for Xen ii libxenstore3.0:amd64 4.4.1-9+deb8u4 amd64 Xenstore communications library for Xen ii xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64 4.4.1-9+deb8u4 amd64 Xen Hypervisor on AMD64 ii xen-hypervisor-4.6-amd64 4.6.0-1+nmu2 amd64 Xen Hypervisor on AMD64 ii xen-linux-system-4.3.0-1-amd64 4.3.5-1 amd64 Xen system with Linux 4.3 on 64-bit PCs (meta-package) ii xen-linux-system-4.4.0-1-amd64 4.4.6-1 amd64 Xen system with Linux 4.4 on 64-bit PCs (meta-package) ii xen-linux-system-amd64 4.4+71 amd64 Xen system with Linux for 64-bit PCs (meta-package) ii xen-system-amd64 4.4.1-9+deb8u4 amd64 Xen System on AMD64 (meta-package) ii xen-tools 4.5-1 all Tools to manage Xen virtual servers ii xen-utils-4.4 4.4.1-9+deb8u4 amd64 XEN administrative tools ii xen-utils-4.6 4.6.0-1+nmu2 amd64 XEN administrative tools ii xen-utils-common 4.6.0-1+nmu2 all Xen administrative tools - common files ii xenstore-utils 4.4.1-9+deb8u4 amd64 Xenstore command line utilities for Xen root@xen:/etc/xen# cat win7.cfg name="win7" builder="hvm" vcpus=1 memory=512 disk=[ 'phy:/dev/vg0/guest-volume,xvda,w', # 'file:/mnt/tmp/iso/de_windows_7_professional_x64_dvd_X15-65813.iso,hdc:cdrom,r' 'file:/mnt/tmp/iso/kali-linux-2016.1-amd64.iso,hdc:cdrom,r' ] vif= ['bridge=xenbr0'] vnc=1 vncunused=0 vnclisten = '0.0.0.0' vncconsole=1 #vncpasswd='1' sdl=0 serial='pty' usbdevice='tablet' I tried enabling sdl and different vncclients. I can make a video if you want to see it. Running xl -vvv create win7.cfg I get: .... libxl: debug: libxl_dm.c:1778:libxl__spawn_local_dm: Spawning device-model /usr/bin/qemu-system-i386 with arguments: libxl: debug: libxl_dm.c:1780:libxl__spawn_local_dm: /usr/bin/qemu-system-i386 libxl: debug: libxl_dm.c:1780:libxl__spawn_local_dm: -xen-domid libxl: debug: libxl_dm.c:1780:libxl__spawn_local_dm: 94 .... Doesn't qemu-system-i386 looks a bit strange? Thanks, Christian Attachment:
