A little more correct:
You get more performance and less overhead if you connect/pin cpu cores which 
are hardly interconnected in a CPU system together in favor of cores  which  
are less  interweaved/connected. Most modern CPUs from Intel and AMD has 
"doublettes" of interconnected "cores"  (or "threads")  in their CPUs which  
could  much better  share work then cores/threads which  are in a "wider 
distance"  (on different pairs or  different cpu chassis.
