| Here are 3dmark scores for my Sapphire
AMD Radeon HD 6450 in *bare-metal* Windows 8.1 operating system.http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3996885
As you can observe, there is *substantial* performance degradation
for my AMD Radeon HD 6450 display card in Windows 7 Ultimate HVM
domU (VGA Passthrough) as compared to 3dmark scores in
*bare-metal* Windows 8.1 OS. We can conclude that the performance
of AMD Radeon HD 6450 in VGA Passthrough is not even near-native.

Can the developers do something about this?

      Thank you very much.

          Hi,
I can complete all the 3dmark basic edition v1.3.708 tests in Windows 7 Ultimate HVM domU but I cannot complete all the 3dmark tests in Windows 8 HVM domU. In Windows 8 HVM domU, the screen would turn blank at the Sky Diver demo.
However, I can complete all the 3dmark basic edition tests in *bare-metal* Windows 8.1 OS. Should I upgrade my pure Windows 8 HVM domU to Windows 8.1? After upgrading, will Windows 8.1 HVM domU be able to complete all the 3dmark basic edition tests?
What could the problem be?

I have rebooted Windows 8 HVM
domU a few times, and the artifacts in Youtube videos did
            not come back.
Now there's yet another problem. I have installed 3dmark
version 1.3.708 in Windows 8 HVM domU. When I tried to run
all the tests, the screen would turn blank at the Sky Diver
demo. The screen would remain blank forever until I
destroyed Windows 8 HVM domU (sudo xl destroy <domain
id>) and restarted Windows 8 HVM domU (sudo xl create
            /etc/xen/win8.cfg).

What could be the problem? I have executed 3dmark twice, and
the screen would turn blank twice at the Sky Diver demo. In
short, I couldn't complete all the 3dmark tests.

            Hi,
I started Windows 8 HVM domU on a fresh boot of dom0, the
              artifacts in Youtube videos disappeared.

It is my understanding that if the physical machine
(dom0) is rebooted, then the graphics in the DomU will
be back to normal.  I won't dive into too far into the
technical reasons for this (perhaps someone else can
go into detail if you like... something to do with FLR
support?), but basically a DomU reboot doesn't reset
the video card properly for another OS session. I have the same 6450 card in my Xen 4.4 system and
the same thing happens with a Ubuntu Linux DomU,
though the artifacts show up in more than just YouTube
videos.  It does seem to get worse with every reboot
until the physical host is rebooted.
