but i'm not clear what do you mean exactly here.

Expanding a filesystem is handled by the filesystem layer of your DomU's (or 
Dom0 if the filesystem is a Dom0 one) operating system and not xen. But this 
would be out of scope of this list. See i.e.:

for details about howto expanding / resizing an ext4 FS. On ext4 this is 
usually done with the resize2fs tool from the e2fsprogs toolchain.

How a virtual disk or partition could be resized (if you mean this) is another 
thing and depends hardly from the xen block device type you are using.
