Thanks for the response. From a "fault" point of view, you are probably right, 
but after much internet searching on the subject, the only the occurrence I 
could find was under Xen also, so I figured it would be worth a shout here. If 
nothing else, it would interesting to know if anybody had a graphical Ubuntu 
14.04 working under Xen *without* the issue.
