I can't say for the modified Nvidia setup (would love to try playing with that but don't have the time and resources right now) but I do have a Radeon 7750 passed through to a Windows 7 domU and HDMI audio is working fine (tested it worked as monitor supports HDMI and audio, don't often use it as have a pair of USB headphones for normal use)
