There is a console option. Will do. iirc I mentioned seeing a message "can't find kernel" followed by a "boot:" buried in the gibberish. I posted a picture before. The /boot/extlinux.conf looked ok, and I reinstalled the mbr - changing the mbr changes the results - but I'll capture that and post as well. And when I un pack the initrd I don't see a file that looks like a megaraid driver but I haven't done a thorough search yet. I'd expect to see one though? Will go back and do a serial capture later today. Thanks :) ----- Original Message ----- From: Ian Campbell [mailto:Ian.Campbell@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, September 24, 2013 02:39 AM To: Mitch (BitBlock) Cc: 'eneal@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' <eneal@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; 'Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' <Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>; 'jaceksburghardt@xxxxxxxxx' <jaceksburghardt@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [Xen-users] fresh xcp 1.6 & xenserver install fails on first boot (kernel not found). I think this is a red-herring. From the description you have given I don't think you are getting anywhere near the point at which the kernel would want a driver for the hardware. You are failing at the bootloader stage to even load the kernel in the first place. Are you able to get a full log of the boot, gibberish and all, perhaps using a serial console? Have you validated the content of /boot/extlinux.conf? _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xen.org/xen-users
