[Xen-users] Ubuntu 12.10 + xen-hypervisor-amd64 packages, keystrokes not passed through

From http://xenproject.org/help/questions-and-answers/trouble-sending-keyboard-commands-via-console.html ... a had a search around, and could not find anything that would solve that problem. I am going to start forwarding some of the more valid threads from the new site, which seems to be popular with new Xen users. But ultimately, it would be good if some of you checked into http://xenproject.org/help/questions-and-answers.html occasionally...
Lars

Here is the actual problem:

I have a server running Ubuntu 12.10 (GNU/Linux 3.5.0-37-generic x86_64). I followed all the instructions to install xen-hypervisor-amd64. Everything seems to be working except I cannot forward my keyboard commands. I SSH into my ubuntu server, then run: xm vncviewer , I then get a window that pops up using TightVNC and I am able to connect to the console. The problem is anything I type doesn't get sent to the display. I press "F8" for a list of commands to send "Ctrl Alt Del" but nothing happens... I am connecting to the ubuntu server using Putty with X11 forwarding enabled(Windows 7 Pro via Xming). I have looked everywhere online but haven't been able to find anyone with this issue. Usually people can't connect to the display, my problem is that I can connect to the display, but then I can't do anything... I even followed some instructions to allow the proper keymaps to boot windows bases systems but still can't send keyboard commands. I have tried on other computers too so I assume this is a problem with my xen server.
