Dear all, I want to build xen 3.4.4 on cent0s5.8 (kernel 2.6.18) and I did the following: # yum install kernel-xen # make xen tools stubdom # make install-xen install-tools install-stubdom After reboot, I successfully get into the new dom0 kernel. However, it seems "xm list" cannot work and xend failed to start. # xend start xend-debug.log says "sysctl operation failed - need to rebuild the user-space tool set?" # xenstored I get "FATAL: Failed to initialize dom0 state: Invalid argument" I googled the problem. Wiki says two device nodes, evtchn and gntdev ,should exist. But I can find only "evtchn" either by "ls /proc/xen/" or by "cat /proc/misc". So I guess it is because of the lack of gntdev? But I don't know how to add it. (I installed the precompiled kernel so I don't want to recompile it. It must be another nightmare...) Can someone give me some advice? Thanks!
