I'll chime in here also.

 

For Debian: 

I personally compiled linuses most recent kernel from source (which includes the latest support for xen) and it worked without a problem.

I also compiled xen 4.2 from srouce from the repo and it ran without a problem whatsoever.

 

On the XCP front, I would appreciate any links to compiling from source..if the link is not out of date :).

 

Been wanting to compile XCP but been spending time prepping for my first kid!
