Hello,

I am testing 10G NICs with linux kernel 3.2.2 and Xen 4.1.2.
If I boot linux kernel 3.2.2 without Xen I get arount 7.3 Gbps performance between 2 physical servers.
If I boot linux kernel 3.2.2 with xen-4.1.2 hypervisor I get 2 Gbps network performance between server1-dom0 and server2-dom0. When a dom0 memory and vcpus are increased (memory = 2G and vcpu = 4) I get maximum 5.2 Gbps performance. While the maximum server1-domU and server2-domU network performance I could achieve is 2 Gbps.

Any reason why Xen introduces such a big hit for network performance? Any pointer or suggestions to try for improving network performance?

~shri
