...hmm, did not know XCP in detail (but xen) but if you are like to use Linux / 
Ubuntu as guest OS why did you want to use ressource wasting HVM? I hardly 
assume that XCP offers PV setups too as it is like a part of the xen native 
family (if not pls let me know this too).

Ubuntu afaik offers xen DomU support out of the box in different ways and 
nearly all of us did not have ressources to waste. Ã)

If you use PV there is no special / further driver limit and you will get 
significantly more out of your half metal then it would be possible with HVM in 
any way - nearly the same as from native OSes on the same machine. Other limits 
could be from hardware setup / config then only...
