Have an Onapp system we are migrating away from to xenserver and it uses Xen source images I believe. I had no problem moving the MS Windows servers using the xenconvert utility, but not being a linux guy the conversion process of moving files from Onapp to xenserver is not clear. I think the files on Onapp are .img files, but they don't use extensions from what I can tell when they are stored on the backup volume..

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to convert these disk images from Xen to Xenserver?

Thanks!!!

You still use the xenconvert tool to create .xva files that then can be imported into XCP/XenServer using xe vm-import.

You'll need to make sure that your Xen .img files are complete with internal kernels etc. If you convert a Xen PV image with a kernel stored in the Dom0 to a .xva file it won't boot. ÂA quick look at your xen config files for the DomU would tell us that information.

Some people, when confronted with a problem, think "I know, I'll use Windows."Â
Now they have two problems.
