Hello, Subject: Strange *-dev depends in some xen packages Looking over this page: http://ppa.launchpad.net/luis/testing/ubuntu/dists/lucid/main/binary-amd64/Packages I see what looks like a project similar (if not the same) to this http://virtualusr.wordpress.com/2010/07/14/xen-4-0-rc-source-kernels-packaged-for-ubuntu/ I ran the scripts at virtualusr on 10.04 and got this package set: libxen4_4.0.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb python-xml_0.8.4-10.1ubuntu2_amd64.deb xen-docs-4.0_4.0.1-0ubuntu1_all.deb libxen4-dev_4.0.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb xbel_0.8.4-10.1ubuntu2_all.deb xen-hypervisor-4.0_4.0.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb python-xen-4.0_4.0.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb xbel-utils_0.8.4-10.1ubuntu2_all.deb xen-utils-4.0_4.0.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb My question: Why does python-xen-4.0 have a depends on python-dev? When I look at the package set for Debian Squeeze, there is a similar partition of the xen sources as you have here. However xen-utils-4.0 has no depends on python-dev (via python-xen-4.0). I think that Debian has a more minimal depends set that what was done here in launchpad. Thanks for your attention, Mark _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
