You should find the following flags in the /proc/cpuinfo output if your CPU supports hardware virtualization. cat /proc/cpuinfo Intel: vmx AMD: svmThe other rule of thumb is that all Socket F Opterons support HVM and all AM2/AM3 Athlon64s support HVM.
