I can tell you something more: if I let the machine (for example debian lenny) continue the boot process after the "Senting DHCP request ...", after few minutes, it goes ahead and I get the login prompt. Futhermore, after the login i type: dhclient eth0 and all perfectly works. eth0 gets an IP address and can ping the host system as well. A strange fact happens: if I try to boot a gentoo domU, it never goes ahead and the login prompt never come, but let's solve the problem on debian lenny as domU.
