Hi there,
1- I am  unable to find that "/etc/modprobe.conf" file where I can add "options loop max_loop= 256". Remember i am using Debian 4.0 (etch).
2- There is another problem that we are facing here. We have created 6 VMs but only 4 can run in parallel . Whenever we start the 5th VM the same error occurs "Backend Device not found"
when I checked the loop inside dev
debian:/dev# cd loop <tab>
loop/  loop0  loop1  loop2  loop3  loop4  loop5  loop6  loop7
and
debian:/dev# cd loop
debian:/dev/loop# ls
0
debian:/dev/loop#

How can I check the status of loops or how I come to know that which VM is using which Loop?
Regards

Fasiha Ashraf

Hi,

I see "Failed to find an unused loop device" in the output you posted.
Correct that first (e.g. using the description at
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-06/msg01148.html).

Cheers
Andreas
