Ok thanks for the reply. Added a virtual network with 10.153.181.0/24 then creates a bridge with an IP of 10.153.181.1 - which obviously causes a problem, this being the gateway address. What should I be using? -----Original Message----- From: Todd Deshane [mailto:deshantm@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: 04 January 2009 22:30 To: Dean Pullen Cc: Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [Xen-users] Networking confusion On Sun, Jan 4, 2009 at 7:10 AM, Dean Pullen <dean.pullen@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Now I've got my RHEL guest working on my RHEL host, I'm a little confused as > to how the networking should work. > > > > The host eth0 has an IP of 10.153.181.5 > > The host virbr0 bridge has an IP of 192.168.122.1 > > The guest eth0 has an IP of 192.168.122.2 > > > > The guest will be acting as a web server so needs to be mapped to an > external IP, via the 10.x.x.x network. > > I'm not sure how this is possible considering its IP is within the 192.x.x.x > range? > You should be able to add a new virtual network bridge on the 10. network http://virt-manager.et.redhat.com/screenshots/networking.html If virt-manager doesn't work exactly like you want, then you also should be able to make the bridges manually: http://www.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/5.2/html/Virtu alization/chap-Virtualization-Configuring_networks_and_guests.html Hope that helps.
