This seems to be picked up by the installer - it now goes directly to TCP/IP settings. After entering them manually, as there is no DHCP server, it goes to a blue screen and does nothing further. If my host is set to 10.0.0.1 I'm using 10.0.0.2. Should I be using some bridge IP instead? Any ideas? -----Original Message----- From: xen-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:xen-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dean Pullen Sent: 02 January 2009 16:22 To: xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [Xen-users] Redhat EL 5.2 guest on Redhat EL 5.2 host Thanks. That's what I'm trying now, I'm glad I'm on the right track... FYI it's a paravirtual guest I'm installing. -----Original Message----- From: John Haxby [mailto:john.haxby@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 02 January 2009 16:21 To: Dean Pullen Subject: Re: [Xen-users] Redhat EL 5.2 guest on Redhat EL 5.2 host Dean Pullen wrote: > > The guest installer boots and then after language and keyboard layout > questions, ask what the source installation media is... > > Selecting CD-ROM asks for a driver type, whereas selecting hard-drive > asks if I'd like to add a HDD to the system, where upon if I select > yes, it returns to the original menu. > > Any tips or links upon where I can go next? > If you're installing a paravirtual guest with virt-manager or virt-install then try loop-back mounting the installation DVD where it can be seen through a web browser and then use its url as the location for installation. Check that the URL works from some other machine before you do the installation :-) If you're installing a hardware virtual guest, then install a paravirtual guest instead: performance is generally quite a lot better. jch Scanned by MailDefender - managed email security from intY - www.maildefender.net _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users Scanned by MailDefender - managed email security from intY - www.maildefender.net _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
