Hi, I'm running Xen server based on OpenSuSE 11 (Xen version 3.2.1_16881_04-4.2). I have several Linux DomU's that run perfect. Now I need a temporary Vista install (for testing) so I used 'virt-manager' to install Vista. I used LVM based setup, Vista got 4GB of memory (at least temporary) and 2 CPU's. Initially things look good - I get the console window, Vista starts up and I get to choose the language & keyboard layout. It then completes copying files and starts ', the VNC connection is suddenly lost and I can't get it back. Here is what I find in /var/log/xen: qemu-dm-43.log: > xs_read(): vncpasswd get error. > /vm/86d6b4aa-963a-4c89-958b-50d7c0afd11e/vncpasswd. > char device redirected to /dev/pts/3 > qemu_map_cache_init nr_buckets = 10000 size 3145728 > Watching /local/domain/0/device-model/43/logdirty/next-active > Watching /local/domain/0/device-model/43/command > shared page at pfn effff > buffered io page at pfn efffd > Time offset set 7200 > Register xen platform. > Done register platform. > I/O request not ready: 0, ptr: 0, port: 0, data: 0, count: 0, size: 0 > I/O request not ready: 0, ptr: 0, port: 0, data: 0, count: 0, size: 0 > xc_map_foreign_batch: mmap failed: Cannot allocate memory > xc_map_foreign_batch error 12 'xm dmesg' gives me a lot of these: > (XEN) mm.c:645:d18 Non-privileged (18) attempt to map I/O space 00000000 > (XEN) mm.c:645:d18 Non-privileged (18) attempt to map I/O space 000000c0 > (XEN) mm.c:645:d18 Non-privileged (18) attempt to map I/O space 0000009f > (XEN) mm.c:645:d18 Non-privileged (18) attempt to map I/O space 000000e0 > (XEN) mm.c:645:d19 Non-privileged (19) attempt to map I/O space 00000000 > (XEN) mm.c:645:d19 Non-privileged (19) attempt to map I/O space 000000c0 > (XEN) mm.c:645:d19 Non-privileged (19) attempt to map I/O space 0000009f These addresses are re-occurring, but I can't really say whether it's related (there is no timestamp with 'xm dmesg'... I tried changing different things - stdvga=0/1, apic=0/1, pae=0/1 - but none of these helped... Dom0 is limited to 1GB of memory, but that shouldn't be an issue as we haven't yet used more than 1/2 of that. Any ideas? Best regards, Danilo Attachment:
