Hi list!, this is my first mail, nice to meet you ;-) The first, sorry for my english, this is not good, i am from Spain :-( The second THANKS in advance ;-) I am writing because I have a problem with the virtualization of M$ Windows on Xen. All system works OK when I virtulize systems based on GNU/Linux. When I start my Windows Machine for make installation with the CD (iso). The Windows start OK until the installation say me "Press F2 (ASR)" (aprox.) in this moment the guest SO restart. When Istart with other SO Knoppix, Wifiway (Based on GNU/Linux) all works very well. If I start with ERD Commander (Based on M$) the guest SO restart. What am I doing wrong? My system is: Debian 4.0r3 Etch Kernel 2.6.18-6-xen-vserver-686 libc6-xen 2.3.6.ds1-13etch5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries [Xen version] xen-docs-3.0 3.0.3-0-4 documentation for XEN, a Virtual Machine Monitor xen-hypervisor-3.0.3-1-i386-pae 3.0.3-0-4 The Xen Hypervisor on i386 with pae xen-ioemu-3.0.3-1 3.0.3-0-4 XEN administrative tools xen-linux-system-2.6.18-6-xen-vse 2.6.18.dfsg.1-18etch6 XEN system with Linux 2.6.18 image on i686 xen-tools 2.8-2 Tools to manage debian XEN virtual servers xen-utils-3.0.3-1 3.0.3-0-4 XEN administrative tools xen-utils-common 3.0.3-0-2 XEN administrative tools - common files xenman 0.5-2.1 A graphical Xen management tool My /etc/xen/windows.cfg # # Configuration file for the Xen instance windows, created on # Tue Feb 12 13:15:39 2008. # # # Kernel + memory size # kernel = '/usr/lib/xen-default/boot/hvmloader' builder = 'hvm' memory = '512' # # Disk device(s). # disk = [ 'phy:/dev/imagenes-xen/windows-disk,ioemu:hda,w', 'file:/cosas/windows2.iso,hdc:cdrom,r' ] # # Hostname # name = 'windows' # # Networking # #dhcp = 'dhcp' #vif = [ 'type=ioemu, mac=00:16:3e:74:74:a5' ] # # Behaviour # > >># New stuff device_model = 'qemu-dm' boot = 'd' ne2000 = 1 acpi = 1 sdl = 1 vnc = 0 vncviewer = 0 nographic = 0 My qemu.log say this: domid: 2 qemu: the number of cpus is 1 shared page at pfn:1ffff, mfn: 58d7f buffered io page at pfn:1fffd, mfn: 58d81 False I/O request ... in-service already: 0, pvalid: 0, port: 0, data: 0, count: 0, size: 0 Thanks _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
