I haven't even tried XP yet, I was trying Linux (Ubuntu/Fedora) and they both stop immediately after loading and use a lot of CPU.

same result on both CentOS 5.1 and OpenSUSE 10.3 both from distro packages

A similar case is reported on the xen-users list:
http://xen.markmail.org/search/?q=io%20request%20not%20ready#query:io%20request%20not%20ready+page:1+mid:igzbfasa2igkspem+state:results
and also on the devel list:
http://xen.markmail.org/search/?q=request+not+ready#query:request%20not%20ready+page:1+mid:pkwqagjmen7jpkzj+state:results

So I don't think it is necessarily your Windows XP CD specific. I plan to try a non-graphical boot CD such as debian.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Todd
