Sorry for not being more specific before about the OS version in my previous posts. For the installation, I followed the redhat PDF on setting up xen doms and guests. I downloaded (via yum) the xen and virt-manager packages that are "native" to RH. When I try and create a new guest it seems to work fine until I get to the networking devices. When I tried using a virtual adapter instead of a shared physical it comes up as a 192.168.122.0/24 subnet. I am able to ping and communicate using the virtual adapter, but if I try and change the virtual devices IP to anything other than the 192.168.122.0 subnet, no communication occurs. I am wanting to build out 2 guests that I can place on the internet with public IP's but so far have been unsuccessful because of the networking issues. -Joel -----Original Message----- From: xen-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:xen-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kai Schaetzl Sent: Wednesday, April 09, 2008 11:13 AM To: xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [Xen-users] No shared physical device in virt-manager wrote on Wed, 9 Apr 2008 10:21:57 -0500: > This is Redhat v5 64bit for the Dom0 and the new guest. well, I wasn't clear, sorry. Did you install the CentOS/Red Hat Xen 3.2 rpm that xen.org provides or do you use the "native" xen (3.0/3.1 mix) coming with RHEL 5? If yes (for Xen 3.2), then this patch should help.
