Hi, I've tried to migrate a couple of DomU's from the "file" driver to the "tap:aio" driver. It seems to work Ok, but when I shutdown the DomU I get a kernel Ooops. (everything seems to continue Ok, but it's a little worrying) Here it is; Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245160] Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000090 RIP: Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245172] [zap_page_range+125/288] zap_page_range+0x7d/0x120 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245192] PGD 50dc067 PUD 176e7067 PMD 0 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245202] Oops: 0000 [11] SMP Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245209] CPU 1 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245214] Modules linked in: iptable_raw xt_physdev af_packet bridge tun nf_conntrack_ftp nf_conntrack_irc ipt_LOG xt_limit xt_tcpudp xt_state nf_conntrack_ipv4 nf_conntrack nfnetlink iptable_filter ip_tables x_tables parport_pc lp parport loop 8250_pnp 8250 serial_core serio_raw iTCO_wdt iTCO_vendor_support pcspkr psmouse shpchp pci_hotplug e752x_edac edac_mc ipv6 evdev ext3 jbd mbcache sg sd_mod ata_piix ata_generic libata scsi_mod e1000 ehci_hcd uhci_hcd usbcore raid10 raid456 xor raid1 raid0 multipath linear md_mod dm_mirror dm_snapshot dm_mod thermal processor fan fuse apparmor commoncap Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245321] Pid: 27834, comm: tapdisk Not tainted 2.6.22-14-xen #1 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245327] RIP: e030:[zap_page_range+125/288] [zap_page_range+125/288] zap_page_range+0x7d/0x120 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245338] RSP: e02b:ffff88000e59bea8 EFLAGS: 00010246 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245345] RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: ffff880001ba6420 RCX: 0000000000000000 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245354] RDX: 0101010101010101 RSI: 00002b01657f0000 RDI: 0000000000000000 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245359] RBP: 0000000000000000 R08: ffffffff80547710 R09: 0000000000000000 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245365] R10: 0000000000000000 R11: ffffffffff5f9040 R12: 00002b01657f0000 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245371] R13: ffff8800177ca738 R14: 0000000000161000 R15: 0000000000000000 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245381] FS: 00002b0166d46f40(0000) GS:ffffffff80575080(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245386] CS: e033 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245392] Process tapdisk (pid: 27834, threadinfo ffff88000e59a000, task ffff88001f29c000) Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245397] Stack: ffff8800177ca738 0000000000000000 ffff880001ba6420 ffff880017468f00 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245410] ffff88001a651200 ffff880012a060c0 ffff880012a060c0 ffff88001e614e00 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245421] ffff88000464c0d0 ffffffff8039af3e 0000000000000008 ffffffff80290f41 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245431] Call Trace: Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245466] [blktap_release+142/208] blktap_release+0x8e/0xd0 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245479] [__fput+193/480] __fput+0xc1/0x1e0 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245506] [filp_close+84/144] filp_close+0x54/0x90 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245522] [sys_close+150/240] sys_close+0x96/0xf0 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245539] [system_call+134/139] system_call+0x86/0x8b Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245560] [system_call+0/139] system_call+0x0/0x8b Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245590] Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245593] Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245595] Code: 48 8b 95 90 00 00 00 48 8b 85 98 00 00 00 48 8d 04 02 48 3b Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245620] RIP [zap_page_range+125/288] zap_page_range+0x7d/0x120 Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245629] RSP <ffff88000e59bea8> Jan 19 14:35:41 nodeb kernel: [57422.245634] CR2: 0000000000000090 Stock Ubuntu/Gutsy Xen3.1 kernel. Is this likely to cause a problem / is there a fix? (no errors using the "file" driver) ..
