Hello everyone and thanks for reading, I'm at the end of my wits now and would be really glad if you could help me: I'm trying to install a Windows 2003 Server Guest at a xen 3.1.0 machine and can't connect to it... :( After starting the vm I can't connect to it with vncviewer and no window opens (when running the stuff under X) but there's no error shown anywhere... Things that I tried: vnc=1, sdl=0 # no vnc connection possible, netstat shows two listening vnc processes but connecting to them doesn't work vnc=0, sdl=1 #no window opens disk = [ 'phy:/dev/vserver/w2k3,ioemu:hda,w', 'file:/media/w2k3/WINDOWS_2003_STANDARD.ISO,ioemu:hdc:cdrom,r' ] #instead of the configuration pasted below, no change acpi=0, apic=0, pae=0 # and various combinations - no change Where can I look for errors? What am I doing wrong? Any hints what I should try next? Why is there no "state running" (or any state at all) shown in the output of "xm list" (see below)? My configuration: Debian Linux (etch), 2.6.18-xen #1 SMP i686 GNU/Linux kernel, bridge-utils are installed, Vanderpool/VT enabled in BIOS xen-3.1.0-install-x86_32.tgz from xensource installed (no deb package used!) other guests work fine (debian linux guest) using HVM, on LVM I know the links to xen_install_windows.pdf (xensource) and e.g. http://www.trullala.de/technisches/windows-auf-xen/ ... :) Thanks for your help, nerbas. Here's the stuff that I did (complete with configuration files): ----------------------------------------------- mav5:~# cat /dev/null > /var/log/xen/xend-debug.log mav5:~# cat /dev/null > /var/log/xen/xend.log mav5:~# xm list Name ID Mem(MiB) VCPUs State Time(s) Domain-0 0 1471 2 r----- 723.2 mav5:~# xm create /etc/xen/w2k3.hvm Using config file "/etc/xen/w2k3.hvm".
