[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] [Xen-users] guest Windows XP
Greetings, I am hoping that I am posting my question in the right place, otherwise please accept apologies. The problem that I am trying to resolve has to do with the network and is most likely a very trivial issue, but I simply cannot find any leads to solving it even after several carefully reading several threads on this mailing list and the Xen networking HOWTO. I am trying to setup XP as a guest on openSuSe 10.2 running Xen 3.0.3 on Intel CPU that supports VT. I followed http://en.opensuse.org/Xen_Full_Virtualization_Example and XP is now up and running with the exception of network. Part of the problem is probably that I have no idea what IP, Netmask and Gateway I should givel my XP VM. Dynamic configuration does not work. Please help. Best Regards, Alexei Here is what my network configuration looks like: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:15:C5:BC:0E:2A inet addr:128.111.14.18 Bcast:128.111.14.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: 2002:806f:e41:4:215:c5ff:febc:e2a/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: fec0::4:215:c5ff:febc:e2a/64 Scope:Site inet6 addr: fe80::215:c5ff:febc:e2a/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:67193 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:25548 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:23828873 (22.7 Mb) TX bytes:4393074 (4.1 Mb) Interrupt:18 eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:18:DE:9B:4F:11 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:244021 errors:0 dropped:19328 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 ( 0.0 b) Interrupt:17 Base address:0x6000 Memory:ecfff000-ecffffff lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:116 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:116 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:8068 (7.8 Kb) TX bytes:8068 (7.8 Kb) tap0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 7A:97:F8:BA:99:62 inet6 addr: fe80::7897:f8ff:feba:9962/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:108 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:6 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:500 RX bytes:13646 (13.3 Kb) TX bytes:468 (468.0 b) vif4.0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr FE:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF UP BROADCAST NOARP MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) xenbr0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 7A:97:F8:BA:99:62 inet6 addr: fe80::200:ff:fe00:0/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING NOARP MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:353 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:50209 (49.0 Kb) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Here is the brctl show output bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces xenbr0 8000.7a97f8ba9962 no vif4.0 tap0 _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
