thanks Peter,
I know that generally xen support smp, but what you've just described works only in paravirtual mode, right? I've been trying got get fully virtualized domU with smp and it somehow doesn't work. I expect that the kernel supports smp and I use vcpus = 4
in my config for the domU, but still 1cpu in domU. any idea what to look for?
I think my knowledge is too little to answer your question, as I don't have tried full virtualization. For what I know, Xen should support it, and should be 'giving' the 4 vcpu's to the domU. Or maybe you should try vcpus=2 first. And check if your domU kernel supports SMP by using the command 'uname -a'.
cheers
Peter
