I'm using CTRL-\ (like good old kermit kermit;) with telnet -e "^\\" remotehost or as permanent default echo 'DEFAULT set escape ^\\' > ~/.telnetrc just make sure you disable the QUIT char in your terminal settings, which pretty often is set to CTRL-\ too (check with "stty -a", using stty quit "" Harald Koenig -- "I hope to die ___ _____ before I *have* to use Microsoft Word.", 0--,| /OOOOOOO\ Donald E.
