We use iSCSI and the in the config file, reference the disks as below disk = [ 'phy:disk/by-id/scsi-1494554000000000000000000030000000d2500000e000000,hda1,w', 'phy:disk/by-id/scsi-1494554000000000000000000030000002c2500000e000000,hdb1,w' ] Slightly long, and not necessarily easy to work with, but they are the same over all the machines connected via ISCSI.
