I know that its not possible to do directly on Xen on an older CPU, but is it possible to run vmware on top of linux running inside a host?Unfortunately, no. VMware expects to be running directly on the hardware, and uses a kernel module (I believe) to let it run code in ring-0 of the processor. That won't work in Xen's paravirtualized mode. You could try using something like QEMU, but you'll take a big performance hit. --Michael Vrable _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-usersYes it works on a CPU with Intel VT. I tested it! In fully virtualized mode, you want to say I guess?Michael stated correctly that VMWare won't run in a *paravirtualized* guest... and should be true regardless of the physical hardware.
