Dear list, after upgrading my server to 3GB (as it would not take 4GB :-(, the BIOS only counts to 3.5GB) I realised that when the Dom0 kernel boots, something reserves over 80M: Memory: 136060k/221184k available (1562k kernel code, 84432k reserved, 586k data , 128k init) Can someone enlight me what takes the memeory? The Xen hypervisor get's about 48MB of it's own. I'm running Debian 3.1 (sarge) on a dual-core AMD Athlon X2 and use the binary distribtion of Xen with my own kernel for Dom0. Actually the default Dom0 kernel, but with some more drivers enabled (e.g. ForcedETH, 3ware ...). The Board is a Tyan Tomcat K8E (S2865). server:~# xm info system : Linux host : server release : 2.6.12.6-xen0 version : #6 Mon Dec 19 15:43:38 UTC 2005 machine : x86_64 nr_cpus : 2 nr_nodes : 1 sockets_per_node : 1 cores_per_socket : 2 threads_per_core : 1 cpu_mhz : 2009 hw_caps : 178bfbff:e3d3fbff:00000000:00000010:00000001:00000000:00000003 total_memory : 3071 free_memory : 2816 xen_major : 3 xen_minor : 0 xen_extra : .0 xen_caps : xen-3.0-x86_64 platform_params : virt_start=0xffff800000000000 xen_changeset : Sun Dec 4 17:24:24 2005 +0100 8240:64cd054aa143 cc_compiler : gcc version 3.4.4 20050721 (Red Hat 3.4.4-2) cc_compile_by : xenod cc_compile_domain : cl.cam.ac.uk cc_compile_date : Sun Dec 4 20:18:33 GMT 2005 -- /"\ Goetz Bock at blacknet dot de -- secure mobile Linux everNETting \ / (c) 2006 Creative Commons, Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 de X [ 1.
