I've just written a discussion involving this at
http://stateless.geek.nz/2005/08/29/xen-disk-performance/.

NX desktops work very very well with Xen. 

If you don't use NFS like I do and stick with LVM, performance is
excellent. The only small issue is providing a sound device for esd to
attach too.

I'm still working out a simply domU solution to this, without
reverting to pulling the sound card into a dom0.
