Hi,

You can now get an open-source guest firmware for VTi from
 http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/efi-vfirmware.hg

The sources are there as well as a pre-built image.

This EFI firmware can run linux in SMP and remove/add vcpus.

FreeBSD is known *not* to work.
