Hello Fred!

I`m sure that my partition is /dev/sda7! :)
But I don`t understand why the error occurs if my partition is correct!
My problem is how to configure the option "append"! (if it`s my really problem)

Thanks!

2006/6/1, Yang, Fred <fred.yang@xxxxxxxxx>:
1. Boot your native kernel
2. "mount" command to find out your root device name
3. Put the device name of #2 in the append line of elilo.conf
4. you may also want to modify /etc/fstab of "LABEL=/" to "DeviceName in #2" if any

Subject: [Xen-ia64-devel] Problems booting dom0

Hello!

I`m with problems to load dom0:

UDF-fs: No partition found
XFS: bad magic number
XFS: SB validate failed
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,7)

I`m using Debian Sarge 3.1 on an Itanium 2.
I`m using "xlilo" (modified version to xen) to load my xen.

My elilo.conf:

image=vmlinux-2.6.16.13-xen0
                label=xen
                vmm=xen.gz
                initrd=initrd-2.6.16.13-xen0.img
                read-only
                append="com2=57600,8n1 console=com2 sched=bvt dom0_mem=256M --nomca console=tty0 console=ttyS1,57600,8n1 root=/dev/sda7"

ps: I`m not sure if append="com2=57600,8n1 console=com2 sched=bvt dom0_mem=256M --nomca console=tty0 console=ttyS1,57600,8n1 root=/dev/sda7" is the correct configuration to me...

Thanks!
