8734 seems to be a future changeset. ;-)

Do you need initrd to boot your domU image? If yes, you may add an option in 
example file:

ramdisk = "initrd_name"

If no, can you try appending a "noinitrd" to extra field in your example file 
like:

Extra = "4 noinitrd"

I guess there's some issue when domU image file doesn't require an initrd.
