If you use:

        append="com2=115200,8n1 console=com2 sched=bvt -- nomca 
console=ttyS1,57600 console=tty0 root=/dev/***"

in your elilo.conf, at least you can see more boot message from xenlinux to 
check what exactly it halts at.
