I'm afraid this isn't the kind of change we'd be backporting, unless you have a very good justification for a respective request. The widest of a scope of such a backport that I'd see remotely possible is when just documentation would get touched. Also, process-wise, there wouldn't normally be patches sent to the list for the stable trees. Exceptions are when the backporting is non-trivial, or when something needs fixing there that doesn't exist anymore in newer code. In all other cases it would simply be a request to backport a certain change, possibly directly embedded in the original submission (e.g. by means of a Fixes: tag). Jan
