It is a message-id (a header from every email which somewhat uniquely
identifies it). Many mailing list archives will let you lookup a message
by this identifier. e.g.

http://mid.gmane.org/<1415790358-16787-1-git-send-email-wei.liu2@xxxxxxxxxx>
http://marc.info/?i=<1415790358-16787-1-git-send-email-wei.liu2@xxxxxxxxxx>

Note that the <>'s are part of the message-id itself.
